DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT
What is a DPA?
A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is a legal contract between InnovAItive and our university customers that governs how we process student data. It ensures compliance with data protection regulations including FERPA, GDPR, and industry best practices.
Who needs a DPA?
- Universities and educational institutions using InnovAItive
- Organizations required to comply with FERPA or GDPR
- Enterprise customers with data governance requirements
Individual students and instructors do not need to execute a DPA. Student data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
What does our DPA cover?
- Data security: How we protect student information
- Sub-processors: Third parties we use to provide services
- Data retention: How long we keep data and deletion procedures
- Compliance: FERPA, GDPR, and industry standards
- Audit rights: Your ability to verify our compliance
- Breach notification: How we communicate security incidents
